Rapper Sarkodie has revealed he is always nervous when he has to work with legendary gospel artiste like Yaw Sarpong.
He told Joy Prime’s Ibrahim Ben-Bako that he does not want to do anything that would mar the legacy such artistes has built over the years.
“Because this is Yaw Sarpong! The type of songs that he has done, I don’t want to mess up that legacy, I want him to keep that,” Sarkodie explained.
In 2018 the veteran gospel musician in an interview with Showbiz hinted of a collaboration with the boss of SarkCess Music.
The “Wo haw ne sen” hitmaker disclosed that he listens to Sarkodie’s music a lot and had been looking forward to a collaboration with the 'Mary' singer.
To protect the Yaw Sarpong legacy, Sarkodie explained although he was excited in the beginning to work with the gospel artiste, he did not jump into the collaboration from the get-go.
“I wanted to hear the song and when I heard it I understood why he wanted to put me on it,” he explained
Sarkodie stated that not only did the song have traces of Yaw Sarpong over it but “you still find the new generation in there.”
However, the two artistes are yet to disclose when the song they are working on would be released.
