Debate on the 2020 budget statement was wrapped up in Parliament Tuesday with the House sharply divided on the state of the economy.
While the NDC MPs were unconvinced about the positive picture painted by Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, the governing NPP’s legislators praised ‘the good work done.’
Minority Leader, Haruna Iddrisu, for instance, questioned the significance of policies implemented by the government.

On the flagship, One District One Factory implementation, the Tamale North MP pointed out that in the entire “Upper East Region there’s zero, in the Upper West Region, two uncompleted; so where are the 172…”
However, the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu vehemently disagreed with his colleague’s assertions.
He argued the Akufo-Addo-led administration has out-performed the erstwhile John Mahama government which the NDC MPs were elevating.
