Award-winning actress, Ama K. Abebrese, says she does not like seeing the same faces in every Ghanaian film.
The actress said that the industry needs variety when it comes to casting people for movies.
She made this statement at a workshop organised at the Accra Tourist Information Centre, for industry players to discuss the movie industry in Ghana and how to make it a part of the Oscar award scheme.
“...I hate seeing the same five faces in every Ghanaian film. I can’t stand it. Please let’s get new faces. I am serious,” Ama K Abebrese stated.
Her colleagues, Nikki Samonas and Roselyn Ngissah also expressed their support to the statement.
According to Nikki, it is the producers and directors who have fed the audience with the same faces adding that it makes it difficult for them to accept the introduction of the new faces.
She then called on the producers and directors to make the necessary adjustments.
Roselyn Ngissah added that there should be a balanced strike for the casting of the known and new faces.
