An assistant to the Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service for stealing a Huawei 230 phone belonging to a staff of Parliament.
The culprit, Nana Sekyi, was picked up on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, by police officers in Parliament after a report was filed by the victim at Parliament police station.
The phone was stolen and later switched off at a shop at Parliament’s foyer after the owner had accidentally left it there.
This triggered an intervention by Parliament’s Marshal Department who resorted to the use of CCTV footage which led to the arrest of the suspect.
He is currently in police custody as further investigations are being carried out.
