Aspiring MP for Yendi Farouk Aliu Mahama has donated of 800 bags of sugar and assorted items to the Muslim community to support them carry-out their month-long Ramadan fasting.
The donation is in his bid to support the poor and less privileged Muslims who will be undergoing the spiritual cleansing during the period.

Fasting in the holy month of Ramadan is one of the pillars of Islam and it is observed after sighting the moon in the ninth month of the Islamic calendar.
It is a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community. This year’s Ramadan comes at a time where the world is under immense pressure fighting the coronavirus pandemic.
The impacts of the pandemic have affected the livelihood of many people and compounded the economic misery it is wrecking.
Alhaji Farouk is urging all Muslims to endeavour to take the opportunities the holy period presents to pray to Allah to cleanse the world of the pandemic and heal the world.

He also urged all Muslims to share the little they have.
Over the years the aspiring MP for Yendi has always supported Muslim communities during the holy month.
Alhaji Farouk said he would continue to urge and assist Muslims to maintain a good relationship between them and people of other faith.
He is urging Muslims particularly those in Yendi and its environs to continue to pray for continued peace and tranquillity in the municipality.
