Quantum Ideas Ghana, a Non Governmental Organisation has organised a day empowerment skills programme for some youth in Ashongman Estate in the Greater Accra region.
This was part of activities to mark this year's International Youth Day which is marked on August 12 every year to celebrate the contribution of the youth to national development.
The program is to support the quest by government to train the youth in employable skills whilst boosting their economic empowerment.
The event which was targeted at medicated soap making and indoor decorations is the 3rd in a series of Training Programs by Quantum Ideas Ghana.
The Executive Director, Ethel Anne Komlaga said this year’s International youth day theme, coincides with the objective of the group which is to engage the youth to take on global challenges to deliver on the objectives of the SDGs.

"The promise of Ghana, Africa and the rest of the world rest with the young people. Fortunately, they are full of potential that when developed, can bring a lot of relief to the world.
"Let's awaken the thoughts of creativity in our youth and move them into action. The outcome of which will contribute to their personal and national development. Our coordinated efforts can make this happen," she said.
She, therefore, assured that Quantum Ideas Ghana is committed to empowering young people to lead the solutions to the challenges the world faces now through capacity building, Skills Training, Advocacy and Community Support Programs and services.

The Guest Speaker for the event, Dr Bernard Tetteh-Dumanya, encouraged the youth to take advantage of such skills training and other programs to empower themselves.
"This is time for the youth to form partnerships and take advantage of vocational and skills training to reduce the growing unemployment rate in our country," he said.
Some deserving participants who shared their Ideas to alleviate the harsh conditions of job Losses and youth unemployment during the pandemic were also recognised at the Ceremony.
Some of the Participants who shared their thoughts with joybusiness expressed delight for the opportunity given by Quantum Ideas.
