The Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has asked Ghanaians to dismiss the content of the ruling NPP's manifesto.
This according to Sammy Gyamfi is because the NPP's manifesto is "a bag of lies and 419 promises."
“In all humility, we will like to implore the good people of Ghana to dismiss this 419 NPP manifesto. President Akufo-Addo, his Vice Dr. Bawumia, and the entire NPP establishment cannot be trusted to deliver on their promises” he said.
Speaking at the NDC's weekly press briefing Monday, Mr. Gyamfi described the manifesto and its content as "political chicanery that is evident by the contradiction of the President [before] and his Vice during the manifesto launch.
He cited President Akufo-Addo's interview on Cape Coast-based Atlantic FM Friday, ahead of their manifesto launch where he noted that an airport in Cape Coast is not justified given the close proximity to the capital city of Accra and Takoradi; both of which have airports.
However, in less than 24 hours at the manifesto launch, the Vice President announced a promise that the government will build an ultramodern airport and harbour in Cape Coast if re-elected.
"This begs the question as to what sort of feasibility was conducted on the Cape Coast Airport project between the time President Akufo-Addo spoke on Atlantic FM and the manifesto launched,” he said.
Again, Mr. Gyamfi accused the NPP government of corruption and nepotism, maintaining that the Akufo-Addo led government has trampled upon the fight against these two vices.
He listed the PDS scandal, the “BOSTGATE” five million litres of contaminated fuel scandal, the Australian VISA fraud scandal and others as “naked thievery that cannot be forgiven by Ghanaians.”
To this, he urged the general public to desist from voting the NPP into power a second time.
Meanwhile, the NDC is set to launch its manifesto on Monday, August 31, 2020.
