On 7th September 2020, the National Democratic Congress launched its manifesto at the University of Professional Studies Accra (UPSA) for the 2020 general election scheduled for December 7.

"For the first time in the history of any political party in this country, we are presenting to you, a manifesto that was not developed by leaders of the party who have arrogated in themselves the power of thinking for other people, but ladies and gentlemen we are presenting to you the product of the people's own thinking, which we have put together, polished and developed into implementable programmes".
Mr Nketia expressed confidence in the fact that the NDC party, by this manifesto would solve "once and for all", "the age-long problem of under-development of this country", as the heart of the manifesto has been "derived out of what the people think is what is good for them".
Also present at the launch were Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, Augustus Goosie Tanoh, Alex Mould, Sam P Yalley and former Gender Minister Nana Oye Lithur.
Others were Banda Ibrahim, Julius Debrah and Sherry Ayittey.
The launch of the National Democratic Congress was rescheduled from Monday, 31st August to Monday, 7th September 2020.
The Director of Communications of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Yaw Buaben Asamoah has suggested that the decision by the NDC to postpone its manifesto launch from August to September was to enable the opposition party copy policies from the NPP's manifesto.
