One person has sustained gunshot wound while several others have been left injured after land guards invaded Awutu Kwao Bondzie, near Kasoa in the Central Region.
The thugs, riding on motorbikes and numbering about 10, allegedly stormed the chief’s palace and started firing gunshots.
An eyewitness says, when the chief took to his heels, the group proceeded to beat residents in the palace before setting off to the house of the Asafoatse of the land.
At the home of Francis Quarshie, a similar treatment was meted out to him and his family.
His wife, Princess Nyarko, said the group threatened to kill her and her husband or set the whole house ablaze the next time they storm the community.
One of the eyewitnesses told Adom News that, the group asked of his landlord, and before he could respond, a hefty slap, coupled with some beatings left him on the floor.
The residents, who claim to be living in fear are, thus, appealing to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to come to their aid and arrest the perpetrators.
