Residents affected by a rainstorm at Papase junction in the Kadjebi District of the Oti region say they are yet to receive relief items from the National Disaster Management Organisation (NaDMO).
In March this year, about 300 people with 65 households, 91 families and 144 dependants were rendered homeless.
Joy News’ correspondent, Peter Addison Senoo, reported that the displaced persons in Ahamansu, Mempeasem and Titiaka were putting up with families in nearby communities.
Six months on after the disaster, residents say life has been difficult for them, as they have to put up in homes of other people, crowded in rooms and in essence having to start life afresh.
They say they have still not received any relief items from NaDMO till date.
But speaking to JoyNews’ Oti regional correspondent, the regional NaDMO director Taylor Tarkum says COvid-19 has interfered with their plans and they are yet in the process of getting any relief items for the people.
