One officer has been confirmed dead, 2 are in critical condition and 1 is in a coma.
The officers were on duty on the Walewale stretch of the highway on Saturday dawn when a speeding bus rammed into their vehicle, killing the driver, Lance Corporal Ernest Oteng, instantly.

According to the North East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Kwadwo Antwi Tabi, the patrol van carrying the 4 officers was parked in the pedestrian lane when a failed attempt in overtaking by the bus caused the it to ram into the police.
Currently, the injured officers are responding well to treatment, and doctors are trying to ascertain if the officer in coma has suffered any brain damage.
