Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi Bosiako has justified his failure to capture all 47 constituencies there.
The man popularly known as Chairman Wontumi said the party targeted all the seats but lost the New Edubease, Asawase and Fomena seats.
“I was looking for a 47/47 because of the performance and preparation and strategy that we put across so when we went in we couldn’t get all the 47 but increased it with presidential massively,” he said.
“I didn’t drop one seat. You know if you’re a coach and you’re going to play football, you should encourage the team members.
"Depending on the formation you’re going to play you can say that I’m going to win 10 nil but if you go and then don’t win 10- nil and you score one and have your 3 points it is enough to say you have win," he added.
Speaking to JoyNews' Kwesi Parker-Wilson, Chairman Wontumi said the NPP had massive MP’s in 2008 and 2012 but because the NPP did not win the presidential seat, they accepted defeat.
"Today, we say we are in power because of the quantum of votes secured in the Ashanti Region," he added.
