The Electoral Commission in the Bono Region says all is set for the Council of State elections on Friday.
Five individuals with different expertise will slug it out with the winner by simple majority, representing the region as a Council of State member for the next four years.
The election, which will take place at the Sunyani Municipal Assembly Hall, will have 24 delegates, two each from the region's 12 Municipal and Districts Assemblies.
The all-male contestants include 77-year-old veteran journalist, Kwadwo Agyenim-Boateng, with a tertiary education certificate, 65-year-old educationist and lecturer, Dr George Adjei Henne.
The others are, 66-year-old Paramount Chief of the Drobo traditional area, Okokyeredom Sakyi Ako II, an Economist, and Development Planner and holds a Master of Science degree, Dominic Adu-Gyimah, 42; a teacher by profession with a Bachelor of Education degree, and 39-year-old Agronomist, with Bachelor of Science Qualification, Kwabena Boahen.
Deputy Bono Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, Frank Ohene Okraku told Joy News in an interview on Thursday that they are ready for what he said should be a normal election procedure, after receiving their ballot papers on Wednesday.
He, however, said all electoral officers, contestants, delegates, and observers will be made to adhere strictly to all the Covid-19 safety protocols.
"The Covid-19 safety protocols, those who are coming to vote and those coming to observe should come with their facemask though we will have some available for any eventualities", he stressed.
All the 16 regions in Ghana will elect their Council of State members, in the election organised by the Electoral Commission.
