The National Chairman for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo has visited the Chief Imam, Sheik Osmanu Nuhu Shaributu to celebrate him on his 102th birthday.
The Chairman, on behalf of the opposition NDC and former President, John Mahama on Thursday donated bags of rice and sugar to support the Muslims who are observing the Ramadan fast.
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo also asked for prayers for the nation, his party and its leader, Mr Mahama.
The Chief Imam on his part thanked the NDC for its constant support to the Muslim communities and assured the party of their prayers in this holy month of Ramadan.
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo also made a stop at the residence of Yaro, the gentleman who was shot in the leg during the Ayawaso West Wougon by-elections.
He has undergone series of surgeries partly supported by the National chairman and the former President.
He was presented with an undisclosed amount of money, a bag of rice, sugar and some household needs.
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo assured him of his constant support until he gets back on his feet.
The chairman was accompanied the National Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Alhaji Cooly Young and the leaders of the National Zongo Caucus.
Also was the two National Deputy Communication Officers, Godwin Ako Gunn and Kwaku Boahen as well as executives of the Okaikoi Central constituency.
