The Kumasi unit of The Multimedia Group has launched the 2021 edition of the Luv FM High School Debate at the Kumasi City Mall.
The previous two editions saw T.I Ahmaddiya SHS and St. Jerome SHS take up the crown.
Over 70 schools contested at the zonal qualifying stage which was categorized in phases.
Sixteen schools including Presby SHTS, Ghana Muslim Mission, Prempeh College and Adventist Girls' SHS have qualified for the main competition.

Others are Afia Kobi Ampem Girls SHS, Anglican SHS, St. Hubert Seminary, Fomena T.I AMASS, KNUST SHS, Presby SHS (Bompata), and T.I AMASS, Kumasi.
Semi-finalists in the previous edition gained automatic qualification to the next contest.
They are St. Monica’s Girls SHS, Opoku Ware School, Tepa SHS, St. Jerome SHS.

Ashanti regional director of education, Mary Owusu Afriyie was hopeful the competition will give impetus to the writers and debaters society in the various schools.
The PRO, Mark Ofori spoke on her behalf.

Main sponsor of the event, Jackson Educational complex will give over 7,000 cedis and educational materials to winners.
The debate is set to be aired on Joy Prime and Joy Learning channels on Multi-TV.

The 2021 Luv FM High School Debate is in partnership with the Ghana Education Service, The Conference of Heads of Assisted Secondary Schools (CHASS), The Ashanti Regional SRC and The Writer’s and Debaters’ Society.
