Three individuals in the Ga South Municipality have been reported dead after being involved in a car accident at Asabaham on the Kasoa-Amasaman road.
AdomNews’ Kofi Adjei reports that the victims died on the spot after being run over by a red Toyota Corolla with registration number GN 2044-17.
The ghastly incident occurred at midnight on Sunday, June 20.
An eyewitness, Gabriel Ahakye, who recounted the unfortunate incident stated that he spotted the speeding car emerge from the Kasoa road heading towards Ashalaja.
Unable to pull the break, the driver knocked down the three young males while crossing the road.
The residents present apprehended the driver.
So far, over 29 lives have been lost to road accidents in the area since the beginning of the year, according to the Chief of Gyaase, Nii Amafio.
He noted that calls to Ga South Municipal Assembly to come to their aid have yeilded no results.
This has resulted in the youth of the area threatening to construct speed ramps on the road to end the unnecessary killings.
Clad in red, the angry youths have issued a one-week ultimatum to Ga South Municipal Assembly and Ghana Highways Authority to construct the needed speed ramps.
Should their demands not be met, they have threatened to hinder the movement of vehicles from Kasoa to Amasaman.
Meanwhile, the remains of the deceased have been deposited at the morgue.
