Daniel Barnieh has thrown more light on his unique goal celebration during the Super Clash at the Accra Sports stadium on Sunday.
Barnieh scored the winning goal for Hearts of Oak in the second half and run half the length of the pitch to pick up a shirt from the bench.
The forward lifted the shirt to the crowd as his onrushing teammates tried to get a hold of him.
Upon closer inspection, the customised red shirt shows a birthday message with a picture of Barnieh.
Speaking to Joy Sports, the 20-year-old, who celebrated his birthday on the eve of the Super Clash, revealed that the shirt was a gift he received from his sister.
“My sister got me a customised shirt for my birthday so when I scored, I celebrated by showing it to the crowd to appreciate her.”
The goal for Barnieh meant more as he had once been unsuccessful with his trials at Asante Kotoko.
The former u-20 captain has showed his undoubted quality in the last quarter of the season, scoring two goals whilst providing two assists.
