General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu has alleged that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) lacks the ideas to transform the lives of the ordinary Ghanaian.
In his view, about 96 per cent of the social interventions programme under the 4th republic have all been executed by the NPP administration.
“If you take the initiatives that have happened in this country, you can mention about 96% credited to the NPP, including Free SHS, 1D1F, one village-one dam, school feeding program amongst other. Sometimes you ask yourself so when they (NDC) come to power what really comes to their mind," he quizzed.
John Boadu cited the National Identification project initiated by the Kufor Administration, arguing that in spite of the progress of the policy before the exit of the Kufour administration, the NDC upon the assumption of office in 2009 collapsed the project before exiting office in 2017.
"We came back in 2017 and you can see what we have done so far. NDC is incapable of managing the economy and do not d have the ideas to move this country forward,” he added.
Speaking at the Upper West Regional Annual Delegate Conference, the NPP General Secretary underscored the need for the party to break the eight years electoral cycle, insisting the return of the NDC to power would erode the gains achieved under the current administration.
“These are the reasons why as a party we need to break our backs to make sure that the achievements and the gains that the President has chalked over the 5 years is not destroyed by the 'National Destruction Party'. It is important that we do that, because if we do not, we will go back to the same problems," he averred.
