The 29-year old woman, Joana Krah who is standing trial at the Takoradi circuit court A for faking her kidnapping has pleaded guilty to two charges against her.
Her charges were, deceit of a public officer and publication of false news to cause fear and panic to the public.
Joana Krah and two other accomplices were arrested by the Takoradi divisional Police command for faking her kidnapping to demand an amount of GHC5000 from her adopted father on Friday, October 22nd, 2021.
On 23rd, October 2021, Joana showed up at the Takoradi Divisional Command when she became aware that her adopted father had reported her kidnap and a search had commenced to find her.
She said she was only joking about her kidnapping.
On Monday 25th October 2021 when her charges were read to her in court, she immediately pleaded guilty to both charges and asked for forgiveness.
The Presiding Judge, Honour Micheal Kudjoe Ampedu has set Tuesday 26th October 2021 for Judgment.
Meanwhile, the two other suspects have been freed by the court.
