The Ramadan Edition of the Luv FM and Nhyira FM blood donation exercise, has ended with an impressive turnout.
The quarterly exercise is meant to replenish and support the blood bank at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Health experts reiterated the importance of voluntary blood donation, especially in these post-Covid-19 era because a pint of blood can save up to three people.

Scores of residents of Kumasi and regular blood donors trooped to the premises of the Kumasi Multimedia Unit on Saturday to donate blood.
One after the other, eligible donors were taken through proper screening and advisory sessions before being allowed to donate blood.

Samuel Adu, a contractor said, "this is 48th time I have donated blood and I decided to do this due to some personal reasons”.

Another said, “I feel fulfilled anytime I donate blood at Luv FM because I know it’s going to save a live”.

Christian Oppong Mensah is Deputy Chief Blood Donor Manager for the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.
He is calling on the general public to donate more blood to help stock the national blood bank.
"We're doing this to replenish the lost stock of blood in the bank. At Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, no amount of blood is too small for us. A unit of blood can save the lives of three people, so we're encouraging people to donate periodically" he noted.
