With the announcement of the nationality switches of five new players for the Black Stars as well as the readiness of Mohammed Salisu to avail himself for national team assignments, Ghanaians have shared divided opinions on these additions.
Tariq Lamptey, Ransford Yeboah, Patrick Pfeiffer, Stephan Ambrosius and Inaki Williams are the latest players to have switched nationalities to represent Ghana ahead of the next international window.
Speaking on Joy Sports' Twitter Space on Thursday, some Ghanaians shared their thoughts on the decision to bring in foreign-born Ghanaians, with former communications director of the Ghana Football Association, Saanie Daara, and some journalists also talked about how best we can win the services of some of these foreign-born players.
Belgium AFTV said: "Sometimes, you can take musicians like Kidi, Kuami Eugene or Sarkodie or the young musicians to go and talk to some of these boys [to convince them]
Kojo Amoah: "The incoming players need to know they are just not coming for the World Cup alone. Also they need to justify why they should be called."
Saanie Daara: "There are things that [foreign-born] players would be educated about it so [in that case] they won't complain."
Delali Frank: "The decision to announce the players with artworks I think was purely a marketing content."
