A Ghanaian mineral exporter is calling for effective collaboration between the Minerals Commission of Ghana and foreign gold licensing regulators to expedite gold exportation.
Chief Executive Officer of Excellence Grade Mineral Enterprise, Job Osei Tutu, says the bureaucratic processes in securing an operational license locally is adversely affecting the mineral exporting industry.
He believes a robust partnership would facilitate easy and internationally-friendly export of gold.
“Insurance companies in this country should liaise with the foreign ones so they can ease the partnership between us, the exporters and the foreigners. Generally, local insurance companies have difficulties insuring the precious mineral commodities due to the huge sum of money involved,” he said.
Owing to this challenge, a number of licensed gold traders are faced with inadequate foreign partnerships for business transactions.
The Ghanaian entrepreneur, as part of efforts to boost the local economy, seeks strategic local and international partners involved in gold trading.

Mr. Osei Tutu believes the collaboration would help harness the humongous potential in the bullion trading industry and create a chain of benefits for Ghanaians in the small-scale mining sector.
He spoke in an interview with Luv News after a stakeholder meeting organized by Precious Mineral Marketing Company (PMMC) to engage licensed gold dealers.
“The underpinning principle of excellent Grade Mineral Enterprise is being an indigenous company with a global outlook. Our operations start right from the various mining sites across Ghana through to our refinery, after which we assay and buy at competitive price in a conducive, safe and client-friendly workspace,” said Mr. Osei Tutu.
He intimated that such partnerships bring company growth, and create jobs for the teeming youth.
"Symbiotic partnership is very important to help attain market leadership and that brings enormous economic benefits to Ghana,” he said.
He advised the general public and investors to deal with authenticated licence holders from the Precious Mineral Marketing Company (PMMC).
