A 40-year-old woman has died after a Toyota Tundra vehicle veered off the road and ran into her nearby shop in Buokrom Estate Junction in Kumasi.
Mena Ama was selling in her makeshift shop, with her nine-year-old son when the car smashed the structure reducing it to rubbles.
The petty trader died shortly after being rushed to the Manhyia Hospital while her son currently battles for his life at the Manhyia Hospital.
The Tundra vehicle with registration number DV 2575 was moving through the Obofo street curve in Buokrom Estate, where victims were stationed.
Eyewitnesses told LuvFM that the Tundra vehicle was moving at a top speed and smashed the wooden structure which collapsed on 40-year-old Mena Ama and her nine-year-old son.
The deceased hit her head on the ground and bled profusely. She died on the spot.
Sister of the deceased, Bernice Wiredu who saw it all describes the incident as horrible.
Louis Essaun is one of the victims who narrowly escaped death in the accident.
He is receiving treatment at the Manhyia Hospital.
Eyewitness accounts indicate that the Toyota Tundra was occupied by a driver, and three other persons are believed to be in their early 20s.
Worried residents are demanding justice for the deceased.
The two main suspects [males] are currently in police custody for preliminary investigations.
