The Chief Executive Officer for National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) Kofi Ofosu Nkansah has waded into the Meek Mill video shoot at Jubilee House brouhaha.
Speaking in an interview on Adom FM's midday news on Monday, he said the American rapper only used the area specially designated for visitors at Jubilee House and that there is nothing wrong with it.
"Ghanaians should not drag this issue, Meek Mill only used the visitors' area. All visitors take videos and pictures at this place" he explained.
He further urged Ghanaians to support the Year of Return programme introduced by the NPP government because these foreign celebrities and visitors generate revenue for the country and market Ghana to the whole world.
"We should be interested in the Year of Return arrangements during Christmas and New Year holidays, because it brings a lot of visitors and celebrities with million followers, if they come around they create revenue and market Ghana to the world," he added.
American rapper Meek Mill made headlines on social media in Ghana after posting a music video he shot at the Jubilee House on Sunday, January 8.
Meanwhile, North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has condemned the American rapper, Meek Mill’s use of the Jubilee House to shoot a video.
The legislator told JoyNews in an interview that Meek Mill’s video does not in any way promote the country to the world.
“Go listen to the music, no mention of Ghana and the explicit content. How our women are even denigrated – the sexism, misogyny, swear words, nothing in that content promotes or projects Ghana,” he emphasised.
According to him, “anybody that watches this video in the international arena will rather be disgusted and ask what country is that.”
Speaking in an interview on Joy FM’s Midday News on Monday, he described the act as a despicable desecration of the Jubilee House and called for the dismissal of those responsible for allowing him use the facility.
