Entertainment pundit and politician A Plus, has taken to social media to give the public a glimpse of who the late footballer Christian Atsu was.
He shared a screenshot of a message Atsu sent him in 2021 when he (A Plus) was late to a meeting they had scheduled.
A Plus said although the late footballer was a nice person, he (Atsu) was also a principled individual who was honest with people regardless of their relationship.
From the screenshot, the entertainer was seemingly late to a meeting with Christian Atsu.
The late Atsu who had left after waiting for some time wrote to A Plus stating, “You are the future president of this country. One day you will rule over 30 million people who are suffering. I didn’t expect you to be late. Can we reschedule the meeting? We have to prepare our future president.”
A Plus captioned his post “he sent me this message because I was about five (5) minutes late to a meeting. When I got there, I was informed that he had left not long ago. I tried calling, but he would not answer.”
“About an hour later, I received this message from him. I was so ashamed of myself. He gave it to me "straight straight". Atsu was a very nice but principled person. Right is right, and wrong is wrong; irrespective of his relationship with you. Fare thee well, brother.”
Nearly two weeks after the earthquake, which has now claimed thousands of lives in Turkey and Syria, Christian Atsu was officially confirmed dead on Saturday.
After his club, Hatayspor, confirmed his passing, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement confirming the arrival of his remains in Ghana on Sunday, February 19.
His body was received by the Ministry and his family amid some media coverage at the Kotoka International Airport.
