The Paramount Chief of the Gbledi Traditional Area, Togbega Homatekpor V, is the special guest for the Afadjato edition of Ghana’s most authoritative entertainment talk show, ‘Showbiz A-Z’, on March 11, 2023.
The programme which airs on Joy 99.7FM on Saturdays from 2pm to 6pm, will on March 11, 2023, air from Afadjato, of the iconic tourist sites in the Volta Region.
The show seeks explore the tourism potentials of the Volta Region as well as assess the fortunes Afadjato has brought to the region.
Togbega Homatekpor V, a former teacher, has been a councillor on domestic and moral affairs for his people for many years.
He was enstooled and the Paramount Chief while he was still a student at secondary school in 1984.
Togbega has led the Traditional area to Gazette status as a member of the Volta Regional House of Chiefs.
He has overseen a number of developments in the town, including, but not limited to the Establishment of the Afadjato-Agumatsa Eco-tourism Centre, the road network, reorganization of the community development agency, Upgrading of the Tourist Centre, the Afadjato Senior Secondary Technical School and many others.
The Afadjato edition of ‘Showbiz A-Z, is part of Joy FM’s Ghana Month activities to promote Ghana’s culture and heritage in March, the month of Ghana’s independence.
After a successful edition of the outdoor programme in Cape Coast in 2021, there was a encore in Kumasi where the team discovered Asanteman’s rich tourist centres and culture.
Mount Afadja, known as Afadjato to the Ewe people of Ghana and Togo, is one of the highest mountains in Ghana. It is in the Afadjato South District and Hohoe Municipality.
The Afadjato edition of ‘Showbiz A-Z’ will also look at the state of the creative industry in the Volta Region.
The programme will also host Togbe Adabra IV, Mankrado of Gbledi-Gbogame and the Divisional Chief of Gbledi Tongor / actor; Alexander Kwame Nketia, Volta Regional Director of Ghana Tourism Authority, and Chief Moomen, poet, playwright and creative entrepreneur.
The show will broadcast live on Joy 99.7 FM from the foot of Mount Afadja.
