The spokesperson for Alan Kyerematen's campaign team, Yaw Buaben Asamoah has eulogised the visionary leadership of the former Minister for Trade and Industry,Mr. Alan Kyerematen.
The NPP flagbearer aspirant is currently on a tour of the Upper West Region to announce his presidential aspirations to the party faithful.
The revered politician played down claims that Mr Kyerematen was part of the Economic Management Team (EMT) that sunk the Ghanaian economy into its current state.
Addressing the press at the party's headquarters in Wa, Yaw Buaben rather heaped kind words on the vision of Mr Kyerematen dating back to his first spell under former President, John Agyekum Kuffuor.
Responding to questions from Joy FM's Rafiq Salam, Yaw Buaben emphasised that the vision of the NPP flagbearer hopeful to lead the industrial revolution is the reason the country's economy is still afloat.
"Ghana's economy is still afloat because of the vision of Alan Kyerematen dating back to his first spell under President Kufuor. His vision and belief in industrial revolution is the reason why the Ghanaian economy is still afloat. Who could have imagined cars would be assembled here in Ghana? The automobile industry alone has proven a magic card from the former Trade and Industry Minister", Yaw Asamoah told the Press in Wa.
With over a decade of experience as Trade and Industry Minister, Mr Kyerematen remains one of the longest-serving sector Ministers in Africa, evident in the several international platforms he has been appointed to.
Mr Kyerematen would be contesting the Presidential Primaries alongside Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong and other members of the New Patriotic Party.
