Highlife and Afrobeat artiste, Kuami Eugene has offered nuggets of advice to prospective participants preparing for the audition of Joy Prime's new music reality show, Cues and Lyrics.
According to him, the budding musicians must endeavour to choose songs that will best demonstrate their vocal abilities.
Speaking on Prime Morning Thursday, the Angela hitmaker said that individuals must spread their tentacles by preparing with at least three different songs.
Most talented singers always struggle with the dos and don'ts as well as how to go about things when preparing for an audition, he said.
The rockstar further stated that the contestants must exude confidence when they appear before the judges and should not see them as demigods.
"First thing, prepare the song you’re going to sing, and don’t have one option. Have like three options: the song you can sing best, the song that the key works for you. Don’t go and sing a song that has such a high pitch that you get stuck somewhere. So choose your three best songs."
"Secondly, gather some massive confidence. Whoever you’re going to meet tomorrow is a normal human being. Don’t think they're celebrities because you’ve been seeing them on TV; they’re so much more special than you are. You get there, and you can’t sing anymore. That’s what happens to a lot of people. They’ll go back home, and they’re singing really well, and three, pray before you go," he counselled.
Are you that vocally talented person who is enthused about the Cues and Lyrics audition but does not know what to do or how to approach the judges?
Before making it to stardom, the rockstar had participated in several auditions, including MTN Hitmaker, a platform that nurtured him.
He admonished the prospective contestants not to be first or last to appear before the panel of judges, but should one find himself or herself in that situation, the 'I Feel Nice' hitmaker urged them to give it their best and impress the judges.
The Lynx signee revealed he will help in the selection process scheduled to take place at the Tigon Creative Studios, Achimota-Abofu on March 31, 2023.
Cues & Lyrics is a talent hunt show aimed at unearthing the next big music star in Ghana.
Hundreds have expressed interest in auditioning for the show but only 16 will be selected to participate in the main event.
If singing or rapping has always been your desire and ambition, Cues & Lyrics is the biggest platform for you to explore.
