Ghana head coach Chris Hughton has insisted the Black Stars are committed to winning and making a name for themselves after being with them for a while.
Hughton was handed a 21-month contract by the Ghana Football Association as the new gaffer following the resignation of Otto Addo from the role after the country's exit from the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The 64-year-old, after penning his contract took charge of his first two games in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier doubleheader against Angola, winning one and drawing the other.
The Black Stars recorded a 1-0 win at the Baba Yara Stadium before earning a 1-1 draw in Luanda three days later as Ghana continue their lead at the top of Group E.
In an interview with SuperSport, Hughton explained the determination of the players to succeed.
"I see the desire in this team because I have been fortunate to be around for a year now and particularly if you are not the head coach, it allows you to look at the overall and when Otto Addo was the head coach, he was specific about tactics, training and getting results and during that period, I saw a desire from the team," he said.
"They want to win and it is a good thing I saw."
Recently, the Minister for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif outlined the objectives set for Hughton while on the job.
