The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) has sought to clarify Yussif Chibsah's comments regarding King Faisal players taking bribes to lose to Hearts of Oak in a Premier League game.
Chibsah, who is the Head of Player Relations at the PFAG, about two weeks ago said in an interview with Joy Sports that some of his teammates took money from an unnamed Hearts official to lose the game.
He added that King Faisal owner Alhaji Karim Grusah used 'tactics' to discover his players took money from their opponents to lose the game.
Hearts of Oak had released a statement calling on Chibsah to come forward and help them identify the said official to ensure there's sanity in the game.
The PFAG has now come to clarify that the said game Chibsah was talking about happened some 20 years ago when he was still playing in the Ghana Premier League.
"With regard to the interview in question and the specific anecdote referred to, Mr. Chibsah was recounting an event that occurred over 20 years ago to warn current players against accepting bribes and to advocate for the preservation of their reputation and the integrity of our game," parts of the statement said.
