Head coach of Bofoakwa Tano Fuseini Abubakar says he is 'disappointed' he will not get an opportunity to lead the club when they take to the Ghana Premier League following their promotion.
Fuseini will have to play a supporting role in the top flight due to not boasting the requisite certificate expected by the Club Licensing Board to allow him be in charge of the Tano-based club.
This will be the second consecutive time a promoted club is facing this challenge after qualifying from the Division One League with Nsoatreman also having to appoint a new head coach when they were promoted to the Premier League.
Speaking to Joy Sports, Abubakar, who was instrumental in the club's performance expressed his dissatisfaction.
"It is very disappointing to qualify with the club and not continue at the Premier [League] level. You will feel [the disappointment," he said.
"That is the rules of Club Licensing but we are pleading with them to speed up things for us to give us the opportunity to go and do the License A Course so we can get that opportunity to sit in the dugout for the Premier League matches."
The gaffer added that despite not getting the opportunity to lead them in the top flight, he will still have a key role to play when a new coach is brought in.
"I have a lot to do in the team because, the philosophy we used to qualify, if any coach comes in I don't know if he will continue with it. I don't think he will use those players there [currently]. He will definitely blend the old and new, which is also not easy," he continued.
"I wish I will play a part in the team."
Bofoakwa Tano gained promotion after a 16-year absence in the Premier League having last played in it during the 2006/07 campaign.
