Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson has asked musician Michael Owusu Addo, better known as Sarkodie to show respect to womanhood.
Sarkodie in a song he released in early hours of Wednesday, June 28, responded to claims Yvonne Nelson made against him in her recently released memoir ‘I am not Yvonne Nelson.”
In the memoir she revealed having had an affair with the rapper in 2010 which resulted in a pregnancy.
In Chapter 8 of the book, she recounts her decision to terminate the pregnancy because the rapper did not accept responsibility, explaining that later she found out the rapper had another girlfriend who was studying in a university abroad hence his rejection.
However, replying to Yvonne Nelson’s allegation, the BET award winner in his new release ‘Try Me’, a direct reply to Yvonne, says he never encouraged the actress to have an abortion.
According to him, while he was not ready to be a father, he had told her to keep the pregnancy but Yvonne chose to go ahead with the abortion because she was schooling.
“So don’t you make it seem like I was the one pushing you for abortion,” he said in Try Me, and advised Yvonne Nelson not to play the victim and create the impression that she was looking for love.
“Baby girl make you no try me”, he cautioned.
But the reply does not appear to have gone down well with the actress.
Ms Nelson has responded to Sarkodie and in a tweet has advised the rapper to come clean on the issue.
In a direct response to Sarkodie's claim that her book was selling because of the negativity it portrays, Yvonne also says in a tweet that Sarkodie's Try Me is a good rap but does not change the real facts of the matter.
“Insults wont work michael. Respect womanhood, I’m happy the world gets to see how you are playing this and the real you. Young women get to learn from this.
“You would get the applause for a rap still doesn’t change the TRUTH,” she tweeted.
