The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) has announced plans to establish Fire Safety Training Schools in the 16 administrative regions of Ghana.
This is geared towards producing competent human resources in the fire and safety industry to safeguard life and property.
This was revealed by Chief Fire Officer Julius A. Kuunuor during a durbar with GNFS Council Members and fire personnel in the Volta Region.
"Training is a life-long process and personnel are expected to continue to train regularly and daily to be able to deliver well," said CFO Kuunuor.

He also mentioned that the GNFS implemented several initiatives to educate the public on fire safety, contributing to reduced fire incidents.
CFO Kuunuor added that the GNFS was determined to continue to provide the best service and that the initiative to establish training schools was a testament to that commitment.
The Volta Regional Fire Commander Assistant Fire Officer 1, Joy Ayim Ameyibor, entreated the Chief Fire Officer to resolve challenges impeding fire fighting and safety in his jurisdiction.
The Council applauded officers in the region for their sacrifices and hard work in ensuring the safety of the citizenry.
