Veteran Commentator, Joe Lartey Snr says Ghana's failure to win the Africa Cup of Nations title since 1982 is not just disappointing but painful.
"It is not just disappointing. It is painful," the veteran commentator said in an interview with JoySports' Muftawu Nabila Abdulai.
"It is painful that we haven't won the AFCON," he stressed.
The 96-year-old is, however, optimistic that with the right structures, the senior national team will end the over four decades of failure to rule the rest of the continent.
"If we do a few things right [we can win it], because football appears to be in our blood. It is part of us, and we just have to do the right things.
"I want to meet President Okraku, and then we talk, and I hope sincerely, and I pray that he listens. You know when you are cutting the path and it's crooked, the man behind you or sitting elsewhere will see it. So I hope he may take some of the things I will tell him to heart and act on it.
"I listened to a speech he made the other day, and it was very good, very nice speech," he noted.
Ghana will be seeking to end its over 40 years failure to win the tournament when it is staged in Cote d'Ivoire next year.
