The DCE for North Tongu, Osborne Divine Fenu, has reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring that roads in the various districts including North Tongu are fixed to improve economic activities.
Mr Fenu made this known after the Manklolo of Mepe Traditional area, Togbe Korsi Nego VI, appealed during the celebration of the Afenorto festival for the roads in the area to be fixed.
He noted that the government through the assembly was able to reshape some parts of the roads and have plans to make sure that roads in the entire North Tongu District are fixed in the shortest possible time.
He highlighted some developmental projects undertaken by the assembly with some completed and others ongoing.
The DCE stated that there is a need for the traditional leaders to be united in order to bring the needed development to the people of North Tongu District.
“Due to various security issues in the district, the assembly has channelled most of its developmental funds towards dispute resolution and security issues. I, therefore, urge everyone to choose peace over violence,” Mr Fenu said.
He noted that no meaningful development can occur in an atmosphere of anarchy and chaos hence the need to be united.
“I must further applaud the Mepe Traditional Area for maintaining peace and promoting development for the present and future generations,” Mr Fenu said.
He added that the District Assembly through the office of the District Chief Executive is lobbying for projects to be initiated in the District so the youth can gain employment.
