Ghana Premier League champions Medeama Sporting Club will have to look elsewhere for their home games in the CAF Champions League after the Cape Coast Stadium was rejected.
Medeama submitted the Cape Coast Stadium and the yet-to-be-completed T&A Stadium as their home venues for the 2023/24 season following their qualification to the group stage.
The Tarkwa-based side played their qualification games at the Cape Coast Stadium and were hopeful of having it approved for their group-stage games.
However, the continent's football governing body has rejected the venue deeming it unfit for usage.
The decision means Medeama would now have to rely on the Baba Yara Stadium as their next option and hope for approval from CAF.
"The only option now is [that] Kumasi is only seen as the proper stadium in Ghana so we will go to Kumasi," the club's Communication Director, Patrick Akoto told Joy Sports.
"Even with that, we need to compromise otherwise we would have to play in Ivory Coast or Burkina Faso."
Medeama will begin their CAF Champions League journey on November 25 when they face Al Ahly away from home in Cairo.
