Sammy Forson, broadcaster and former manager of Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie, has called on artiste managers in Ghana to come together to form a formidable force.
Speaking to Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM's Twitter (X) Spaces show 'Joy Entertainment Unpacked', the host of Ignition and the Weekend City Show on Joy FM said having a united front for the artiste managers will go a long way to project the music industry in Ghana.
"I want to use this opportunity to ask artiste managers to form a united front.
Artiste managers should meet like probably once every two weeks, have a drink together, you know," he said.
Another talent manager, Lawrence Nana Asiama Hanson (popularly known in showbiz as BullGod) who was also on the show recounted how a group of artiste managers wanted to form am association some years ago.
He, therefore, commended Sammy Forson for the suggestion and said it was worth considering.
"It's good Sammy Forson brought this up. Myself and my late friend Fenec Otchere attempted that in the past, Sammy will tell you. But we couldn't work it out so this is good call," BullGod said.
Sammy Forson also added that there is always a lot of experience to tap into, especially for the new artiste managers.
"You need to learn the ropes, you need to know how to do things. People like BullGod have connects around the world that they can plug you into, and you know that is what people in other parts of Africa are doing. They have a united front, trying to project their country," he noted.
He also mentioned that the artiste would stay more connected if their managers are united.
Sammy Forson has worked with artistes such as the late OJ Blaq, the defunct hiplife duo Echo and Sarkodie, one of Ghana's biggest rap talents.
