The Functional Executive Committee (FEC) of the National Democratic Congress has disqualified Michael Nii Yarboi from participating in the upcoming parliamentary primary for the Odododiodioo Constituency.
The party says this decision follows a thorough investigation into the violence that marred the parliamentary aspirants' vetting process on October 13, 2023, in the Odododiodioo Constituency.
A report submitted by the Special Committee set up for this purpose served as the basis for disqualifying Michael Nii Yarboi.
Furthermore, FEC has taken action against the other two aspirants, Mr Alfred Nii Kotei Ashie and Mr Emmanuel Nii Kotei Ashie.
The supporters of these aspirants were reportedly responsible for the destruction of property during the vetting process.
FEC has decided to jointly surcharge them for all the costs associated with the damages at the vetting center.
In response to these developments, FEC has instructed its election directorate to promptly organize the parliamentary primaries for the Odododiodioo Constituency.
