The KEB Health Foundation, a dedicated non-governmental organization (NGO) continues to make substantial progress in reaching underserved communities in the Ho West district in its unwavering mission to promote healthcare equality.
The foundation, committed to extending medical assistance to hard-to-reach areas, conducts quarterly outreach programs aimed at educating and treating individuals facing obstacles such as financial constraints, geographical distances, or prevailing misconceptions that deter them from seeking hospital care.
The Principal Medical Officer at the Kpedze Policlinic in the Ho West district, Dr. Emmanuel Atsu Apanga, highlighted prevalent health challenges faced by these communities.

He pointed out observable trends of morbidity related to malaria, respiratory tract infections, and non-communicable diseases such as hypertension and diabetes, affecting both adults and children.
"The quarterly outreach initiatives are pivotal in addressing health issues that often go untreated due to barriers like financial constraints, geographical remoteness, or misconceptions surrounding healthcare," noted Dr. Apanga.
"Our goal is to bring education, treatment, and care directly to the doorstep of those who might not otherwise access hospital services."

Dr. Apanga emphasized the proactive stance taken by the foundation, including screening for HIV and Tuberculosis during these outreach programs.
Such screenings not only identify health conditions in their early stages but also contribute to preventing the spread of communicable diseases within these vulnerable communities.
Hon. Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah, the Patron of the KEB Health Foundation and the Member of Parliament for the Ho West constituency, underscored the importance of community-focused healthcare initiatives.
