The Angaza Awards: Women to Watch in Banking, Finance, and Investment has unveiled its prestigious list of Top 10 women shaping Africa’s financial services sector. This esteemed recognition will culminate in celebrations at the upcoming Angaza Forum in Nairobi, Kenya, scheduled for October 16 and 17.
The Angaza Awards attracted professionals from across 11 countries on the continent of Africa during a four-month entry period. The distinguished list of honorees represents a diverse range of sectors within the financial industry, including banking, insurance, microfinance, and fintech.
Participants hailing from Botswana, Côte d'Ivoire, Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, the United Kingdom, Zambia, and Zimbabwe vied for recognition. Entries were evaluated based on measurable achievements within their respective institutions and notable contributions to the industry at large.
Josephine Anan-Ankomah, Regional Executive for Central, Eastern, and Southern Africa (CESA) and Managing Director of Ecobank Kenya, leads the roster with an illustrious career spanning 32 years.
Anan-Ankomah's transformative initiatives have garnered global acclaim, including the launch of Ecobank's gender financing initiative, Ellevate by Ecobank. Through her strategic leadership, Josephine Anan-Ankomah has driven remarkable growth and fostered economic development across Africa.
