The Embassy of the State of Israel in Ghana together with the Zongo and Inner-Cities Development Secretariat has presented various items to Muslim communities in Accra. This is part of the Embassy’s activities to mark this year’s Eid al-Fitr in Ghana.
During a courtesy call to the Zongo and Inner-Cities Development Secretariat on on Tuesday, 9 April 2024, Israeli Ambassador to Ghana, Shlomit Sufa, used the occasion to emphasise the strong relations between Israel and Ghana which has led to many developmental projects and cooperation.
Ambassador Sufa also expressed gratitude to the Secretariat for collaborating with the Embassy to reach out to Muslim communities ahead of the Eid celebrations.
“The Embassy is delighted to collaborate with the Zongo and Inner-Cities Development Secretariat under the office of the President. As an Embassy, we focus on various capacity-building projects. We are happy to be here to support the Zongo communities and we hope that today’s engagement will be the beginning of many elements of our collaborations together,” she said.
On his part, Alhaji Ben Abdallah Banda, the Presidential Coordinator for the Zongo and Inner-Cities Development Secretariat expressed gratitude to Ambassador Sufa and the Embassy for the kind gesture and collaboration with the Secretariat.
He also briefed Ambassador Sufa on the work of the Secretariat since its inception in 2017. In all, dozens of elderly men and women from the Ayawaso East Constituency received various food items to support their celebration of the Eid al-Fitr.
