Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has prayed for blessings on all Ghanaians throughout the year.
In a Facebook post on April 11 to mark the end of the month-long Muslims fast of Ramadan, he said "Eid Mubarak to all, and may the spirit of Ramadan stay with you throughout the year."
Whilst extending Eid Mubarak wishes to all Muslims, he urged that the lessons of Ramadan serve as a guiding light throughout the year.
“Eid Mubarak to all our Muslim brothers and sisters, both in Ghana and all around the world.
“My sincere wish is that the enduring lessons of patience, discipline, and empathy that were learnt during Ramadan will continue to inspire and guide us as a people,” the post by Mahama read.
Mahama noted that the occasion brings with it good tidings and offers an opportunity to extend compassion to the needy.
“May this special occasion bring peace, happiness, and prosperity to you and your loved ones. Let us also take this opportunity to extend our compassion and generosity to those who are less fortunate,” Mahama said in the post.
