The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) played their counterparts from the Akenten Appiah-Menka University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (AAMUSTED) in a friendly match in honor of KNUST Chancellor, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
In celebrating the 25 years of exemplary leadership since his ascension to the Golden Stool as Asantehene, the KNUST invited AAMUSTED for the football match.
In a captivating display at the Paa Joe Sports Complex on Thursday, AAMUSTED's flair and prowess were on full display as they stormed to a remarkable 5-1 win over host institution, KNUST.

The visitors stopped the host from double celebration by lifting the trophy after an impressive win in front of the KNUST dignitaries.
Though the two teams played well, KNUST will be disappointed they couldn’t fulfil the mantra of host and win.
After the game, Vice Chancellor of KNUST, Prof Rita Akosuah Dickson presented the stunning trophy and medals to AAMUSTED players for emerging victorious in the invitational match.
For the women, KNUST beat AAMUSTED by 2-0 to lift the trophy. The KNUST Vice Chancellor again presented a trophy and some beautiful medals to the KNUST ladies.

Other sporting disciplines including tug of war were held at the Paa Joe Sports Complex to spice the day’s activities.
KNUST has held a series of events to commemorate the Asantehene’s silver jubilee and has plans to host other programs to acknowledge the role and impact of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II in the academic space and the country at large.
