First-timers, Our Lady of Grace (OLAG) SHS, have sent packing Kumasi Senior High/Technical School and Adanwomase SHS in the ongoing Goil PLC Ashanti Regional Championship of the National Science and Maths Quiz.
The private school, perceived to be greenhorns, surprised their competitors and audience by winning their contest with 47 points.
OLAG proved their mettle by dominating all rounds of the competition and handing a tough contest to their contenders.
Kumasi Senior High/Technical School anticipated turning the contest in their favor in the third round after finishing with a 6-point difference between themselves and the main competitor.

However, they stumbled, extending the margin to 9 points after OLAG correctly answered all the questions but one.
Still unperturbed by the lead, KSTS managed to snatch one of the riddles to close the gap but it wasn’t enough to outcompete the “Adom Mma.”
OLAG ended the contest with 47 points, while KSTS secured 41 points and Adanwomase SHS accrued 12 points.
OLAG is convinced their win will catapult them to victory, clinching the ultimate title.
It was a nip-and-tuck battle between Prempeh College and Tepa SHS as the two schools went head-to-head in the first and second rounds of their contest.

But the boys from the Greenland exhibited their unique skills, escaping defeat and carrying the day.
They also beat their female affiliate, Yaa Asantewaa Girls SHS, and Bompata Presby SHS.
Meanwhile, St. Hubert SHS and Kumasi High have also progressed to the next stage of the competition.

St. Hubert SHS escaped defeat by a hair’s breadth after taking the last riddle to overturn the contest in their favor against Amaniampong SHS.
They won with 30 points while Amaniampong, their closest contender, lost with 29 points.
