The New Patriotic Party's (NPP) presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has eulogised the performance of the current administration.
According to him, the administration has worked very effectively in managing the economy. This, he said, was possible despite challenging circumstances such as the COVID 19 pandemic and Russian-Ukraine war.
"As chairman of the Economic Management Team, I can say without any fear of contradiction, that NPP's performance on the economy is superior to John Mahama's performance on the economy," Dr. Bawumia stated and challenged for a debate on performance records between the NPP and the National Democratic Congress.
He made these remarks while addressing NPP members at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi during the unveiling ceremony of the party's running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
Dr. Bawumia pointed to various indicators to support his claim, stating, "In every area, we are superior: looking at dumsor, we (NPP) performed better; agricultural growth, industrial growth, roads and railways, hospitals, classrooms, fish landing sites, zongo development, court buildings, Ghana Card, digitalization, among others."
Bawumia acknowledged existing challenges but insisted that the NPP government's record is far better compared to the NDC.
He added that the NPP is ready to challenge the NDC to present their records in these sectors for comparison.
