Emmanuel Antwi has described his move to Asante Kotoko as a 'dream come true' following the club's official announcement on Tuesday, July 9.
The former Great Olympics man signed a three-year contract with the Porcupine Warriors following his departure from the Accra-based side.
In an interview with Kotoko's media, Antwi described the move as a dream come true for him, and also expressed his desire to settle in quickly at his new club and help Kotoko move forward amid recent setbacks.
"I am thrilled to be here as it has been a childhood dream of mine to play for Kotoko," said Antwi. "I am excited to wear the jersey and look forward to contributing to the team. Knowing some of the current players will help me settle in quickly and focus on the task ahead."
Antwi hinted at a potential cameo with Kotoko earlier this month in an interview with Minimsaah on TikTok when asked who his friends would like him to play for between Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko.
He answered, "They are all waiting for Kotoko, so let's see. I will always go for Kotoko."
Antwi made a total of 26 appearances for Great Olympics last season, scoring 6 goals and providing 5 assists.
Though his efforts could not save the Dade boys from relegation, Antwi's performances caught the eye of many sides, with Kotoko succeeding in securing his signature.
The attacking midfielder becomes the third signing for the Porcupine Warriors this window as the Kumasi-based side eye a massive rebuild at the heart of their squad.
