The Board Chairman of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Gary Nimako Marfo Esq., has announced a significant policy shift aimed at increasing the earnings of lottery agents.
Speaking at an Editors' Forum held in Accra, Mr Marfo revealed the board's decision to raise the commission rates from 20 per cent to 25 per cent, a move set to benefit thousands of agents across the country and it takes effect from the end of August 2024.
Mr Marfo emphasized that this increase is part of the board's broader efforts to introduce sanity and robust regulation within the industry.

He expressed his commitment to leaving a lasting legacy during his tenure, focusing on enhancing the operations and reputation of the NLA.

"The NLA is making great strides in its operations, and we will continue on this path of progress," Mr Marfo stated. He also took the opportunity to commend the NLA staff for their dedication and hard work, which have been instrumental in the Authority's recent achievements.
The forum provided a platform for the NLA to engage with media professionals, offering insights into the Authority's ongoing initiatives and plans.
