President Akufo-Addo is set to kick off his campaign for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) 2024 presidential election on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
He will be campaigning alongside Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and his running mate, Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh, as well as all NPP parliamentary candidates across the 276 constituencies.
The campaign tour will commence in the Upper East and Upper West Regions and is expected to span approximately 65 days leading up to the presidential and parliamentary elections on December 7, 2024.
Sources familiar with the President's itinerary indicate that he plans to visit all 16 regions of the country before the elections.

On Thursday, October 3, 2024, the President will temporarily leave the country for official assignments in France and Germany.
Following his return, he will continue his regional campaign for the NPP’s 2024 ticket.
As he prepares for this campaign, President Akufo-Addo is keen on ensuring a smooth transition of power, expressing his desire to hand over the presidency to Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, who has been his partner in four consecutive elections (2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020).
Of these, they won two elections in 2016 and 2020 but faced defeats in 2008 and 2012.
Meanwhile, Dr Bawumia and Dr Prempeh have been actively engaging in constituency-based campaigns over the past few months.
Currently, Vice President Bawumia is campaigning in the Western Region, while Dr Prempeh is in the Ashanti Region, both working to rally support ahead of the elections.
