The Brands and Marketing Manager of Peeva Beverages, Courage Kpodo, has revealed a 'minor injury' contributed to their Chief Executive Officer not winning the CEOs penalty shootout at the JoySports Invitational tournament.
The CEO of the company, Frank Adjei Mensah, fell along the line in the event which was eventually won by the CEO of IS Evolutions Consult.
The event, organised by JoySports and sponsored by the Minerals Commission, McDan Group, The Luckiest, Skechers, Emigoh Ghana, Peeva Beverages, and Caveman Watches, featured about 29 corporate organisations.
Speaking on JoyNews on Friday, November 1, Kpodo blamed his side's strong training regime for their inability to win the CEO's penalty shootout.
"Because of the vigorous training, there was a little injury so that is why he was not able to give us all the goals that we needed," he said.
"My boss is good when it comes to penalty shoot-out."
Peeva Beverages were one of the debutants for this year's JoySports Invitational and won gold medal in the men's sack race event.
They have promised to come stronger in subsequent editions.
"This is our first time participating [in the JoySports Invitational]," he continued.
"Subsequently, we are going to come fully."
The CEOs penalty shootout competition was one of 15 disciplines featured at the tournament, which included events like Women's penalty shootouts, chess, a women’s 100m dash, a men’s 100m dash, and tug of peace.
The next edition promises to be even bigger and better.
