The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, has made a significant promise to build sports stadiums in all 16 regions of Ghana if elected.
This initiative aims to enhance the country’s sports infrastructure and foster youth development nationwide.
During a recent campaign stop in the Oti Region, Mahama emphasised the NDC’s dedication to empowering the youth through sports.
He stated that the proposed regional stadiums would serve as vital spaces for nurturing young talent, promoting local pride, and increasing community engagement in sports activities.
In addition to the cultural and social benefits, Mahama highlighted the economic advantages of constructing these stadiums.
He explained that the projects would create numerous jobs, not only in construction but also in facility maintenance and event management, thereby contributing to local economic growth.
“One of the policies of the NDC is to build stadiums in every region. So in the Oti Region, we will build one for you. Every region will also have a regional police station, so we will also build one here for you."
“The NDC is the only party that will bring development in this region so that it will be noticed as the best region in the country,” he stated.
